Project Overview
This project is a cinematic cover of "The Night We Met" by Lord Huron, created as a fully self-produced music video. The goal was to explore visual rhythm, lighting, and performance-driven editing within a controlled, single-location setup.
The entire project — from music production to filming and editing — was completed independently. The video serves as a focused creative exercise in cinematic framing, lighting consistency, and musical pacing.
Cinematography & Lighting
The video was filmed entirely in my living room using a Sony a6600, with a deliberately warm, low-key lighting palette to create a cohesive and intimate atmosphere.
Lighting was designed and executed solo, using:
• Ring light primarily for rim lighting
• Softbox lights for controlled fill
• LED panel primarily as a key light
Editing & Visual Rhythm
To maintain energy without camera motion, the edit relies on split-screen compositions and rhythmic cutting tied closely to the music.
Editorial choices focused on:
• Using multiple simultaneous angles to create visual momentum
• Cutting precisely to musical phrasing and emotional beats
• Varying split-screen layouts to prevent visual fatigue
• Maintaining a unified color balance across all frames
Music Production & Workflow
The cover was produced entirely in FL Studio, with vocals recorded using a Shure SM7B. Audio was fully completed prior to filming; sound captured during video recording was used solely for synchronization.
This separation allowed the video edit to focus purely on performance and timing, with no compromise to audio quality.
